This article has the goal to contribute to the discussion about the new federal law regulating the public sector competitive bidding process, and the benefits it represents for government acquisitions. It aims, also, to bring to the attention of law students and scholars, and of the Brazilian public in general, to the insertion, in bills being discussed and voted by the Brazilian National Congress, of provisions that may impair the fight against corruption and upend the existing anticorruption legal tools.
